Helping Our Troops is kicking off its 3rd Annual "Operation Holiday Heroes" Adopt-A-Box Program! With all the talk of the troops coming home, people are forgetting those who are still there and donations have slowed down considerably.

Operation Holiday Heroes has been a great success the past three years. To date, they support 154 combat units, 11 combat hospitals and 18 chaplains. They have reached out to 21,000 soldiers since its formation. Last year alone, they sent out 1,437 packages!

Help Local Children Wish Upon A Star

This holiday season, why not bring a smile to the face of a local homeless child?  The North Suburban YMCA is once again holding their Holiday Wishes donation drive.  This is a non-denominational giving program that focuses on those who are severely in need.  Items on the star board include cold weather gear such as hats, gloves, and mittens.  These children also would like a change of clothes, pajamas, or maybe a board game.

If you are interested in helping these children celebrate this season, please stop by the Welcome Desk at the North Suburban YMCA.
