The mission of SCI Woburn is to strengthen the community by connecting diverse individuals and organizations through civic engagement initiatives. The SCI Woburn website serves as a community resource connecting residents to volunteer opportunities, community events and resources.

Due to the impending weather, the Hurld School Playground Map Event has been moved to Saturday, April 18th.

Current and future students at the Hurld School will be getting a course in geography outside the classroom - on the school's playground. The Massachusetts Branch of Verizons Pioneers will arrive @ 7:30 with stencils, paint and paintbrushes to paint a map of the United States on the new pavement in the back playground. Part of Verizon's Education for Kids program, the map is geared to help students with their geography, as well as to promote national pride. The large and colorful map will take nearly five hours to complete.  The Hurld School is located at 75 Bedford Road  in Woburn and this event will be taking place from 7:30 am -2:30 pm on Saturday April.

Come an enjoy a Half-Day Bird Walk led by bird experts Diana Fruguglietti & Paul Ippolito.  Paul and Diana have travel to many places around the world tracking exotic birds and have lead many "walks" for WREN at Horn Pond and other local areas. The walk will be taking place on Sunday April 5th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and will be meeting at the corner of Water Street and Sturgis Street.

The City of Woburn is starting its first Annual Community Yard Sale on Saturday May 2nd from 9:00am to 2:00pm.  A map of the different location will be available at City Hall / Recreation Department for people to pick up free of charge for those who are interested.  Volunteers are needed once again to help with making this event successful.  Volunteers are needed from 8:00 am - 10:00 am and will be stationed at the city hall parking lot located across from the Public Library.  If you are inter

The Reeves Elementary School in Woburn is preparing for its Final Four Parents Night Out in connection with the March Madness Calendar Fundraiser, sponsored by the Reeves PTO.

The Final Four Parents Night Out will take place April 4, at the Woburn Moose Lodge, located at 4 Federal Street, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $10 each, which will include appetizers, entertainment by Gary Leavitt, and door prize entry. Raffle baskets will be available to bid on, as well as the final March Madness Calendar Final prize announcements.

The Rotary Club of Woburn with help from various community saftey organizations will be hosting an MYCHIP(Masonic Youth Child ID Program) event at the Boys and Girls Club of Woburn, located at 1 Charles Gardner Ln. This event is for people who are interested in learning about child saftey thorough various means.

Registration is now OPEN for the Club's new Summer Camp program - The Positive Place For Summer.  Available to ages 5-14, the Boys & Girls Club,  located at 1 Charles Gardner Lane, offers separate "camps" for younger children, teens and Counselors in Training.
