44th Annual Open Community Art Exhibit

-ENTRY RULES-

PLACE: First Congregational Church, 322 Main Street, Woburn Square, Woburn, MA

DATE: Saturday, November 24, 2007, 2:00 to 7:00 PM.

ELIGIBILITY: Entrants can be non-member local artists, guild members, Middle School, and Senior High School students. Entries must be your original artwork, not copied from other artwork, and must not have been previously exhibited in a judged Woburn Guild exhibit.

ENTRY RULES: Entries are limited to three (3) entries for members and one (1) entry for non-members. Students are considered those of Senior High and Middle High School.

ENTRY FEES: Member Adults - One entry = $7, Two entries = $10, Three entries = $12

Members Students - One fee of $7.00 for 1 or 2 entries

Non-Member Adults - One fee of $10 for 1 entry

Non-Member Students - One fee of $7.00 for 1 entry

ENTRY DELIVERIES: Works must be delivered to the church on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Use the rear entrance of the church. Awards will be posted after the judging.

ENTRY PICK-UPS: Works must be picked up from the church, Sunday, Nov. 25, at 1:00 PM. NO WORKS MAY BE REMOVED EARLY. There will be a $5.00 per day, per entry, fee paid in cash, for artwork not picked up at 1:00 PM.

CATEGORIES: Ribbons and Cash Awards will be presented, and the following categories will be professionally judged:

Oil/Acrylic

Watercolor

Sculpture/Handcraft

Photography

Student

Graphics - (any Hardcopy of a Computer Generated Manipulation)

Dry Media - Pastel, Graphite/Charcoal, Pen & Ink

Mixed Media

Categories may be combined by the committee due to the response.

SPECIAL AWARDS: There will be Special Sponsored Awards for Guild Members. Cash awards will be for "Best in Show" by a member, a student, and amateur member. Members must be current on their dues.

IDENTIFICATION: Entry Labels must be completely filled out legibly, and placed on the back of each entry. Artwork that is not priced should be marked "NFS" (Not For Sale), or "POR" (Price on Request).

DEADLINE: ALL ENTRY FORMS AND FEES MUST BE RECEIVED BY NOVEMBER 16, 2007. Make checks or money orders payable to "Woburn Guild of Artists, Inc." NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE DATE. Please send entry forms with payment of fees to: The Woburn Guild of Artists, Inc., P.O. Box 2704, Woburn, MA 01888-1304.

FRAMING: All flat artwork to be judged, MUST BE SECURELY FRAMED AND WIRED. Screw eyes should be about 1/3 of the way down the side of the frame with enough hanger wire that is not too tight or loose, but is usually taut to the top of the artwork and not showing above the frame. SAWTOOTH, CLIPS, OR OTHER HANGERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Students need only have their works matted, or in a protective covering, but may also be framed as above, if desired. UNFRAMED GALLERY CANVASES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

MISC: There will be a special area set up for members to display up to two (2) mini-art and up to six (6) card packages. Each Sale and Tax is the responsibility of the artist. If there are less than three (3) artists in a class category, their entries will be added to the next appropriate category, deemed and chosen by the exhibit committee, or to the Mixed Media Category.

NOTICE: Exhibitors are totally responsible for their artwork. The Guild does not assume any responsibility for fire, theft, acts of God, etc.

DIRECTIONS: From Rt. 128, Exit 35, at the rotary (Woburn Cinemas) take Main Street south toward Woburn, through 6 sets of lights, for about 1.5 to 2 miles to Woburn Center. Continue around center past City Hall and bear right, back onto Main Street. The First Congregational Church will be immediately on your right. Take the first right onto Church Ave. Parking is in the rear.
