AAPI Heritage Festival this May!

AAPI Flier

Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month is a celebration of a diverse group of ethnic heritage within the Asian community who bring a wealth of enriched culture to our society.  This celebration will endeavor to build awareness and educate our community on the various cultures and contributions these different Asian ethnic groups have brought to enrich our American Story.  By building this ethnic awareness, we hope that prejudice, stereotypes, and unconscious biases will be recognized within our society so that racism and hatred can be eliminated from the midst of us.  As Asian hate crimes are increasing, it is imperative now more than ever that these crimes be stopped.

One of the most important ways of stopping these crimes is to begin with the education of our community. Woburn is a multi-cultural community. We need to foster cultural awareness through education and interaction as a first step toward building an environment for harmony and collaboration.

Celebrated nationally in May, AAPI celebrates Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental in its future success. This AAPI Event-2022 celebrates and offers educational opportunities surrounding AAPI culture, heritage, histories, cultural diversity, contribution and often underreported challenges of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.  We hope that bringing this event to the Middlesex community is going to create an important wave of awareness and a desire to educate oneself more about the AAPI community.
