The Woburn Public Library Annual Gala and Auction is be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Café Escadrille in Burlington.

This year’s live auction will provide attendees an opportunity to bid on a week long cruise from Boston to Bermuda aboard the Norwegian Dawn, a new ship with ocean view stateroom accommodations, Red Sox/Yankees tickets at Fenway and also at the soon to be defunct Yankee Stadium, several pairs of Red Sox tickets, and a variety of autographed sports memorabilia. Guests can also bid on a variety of sculptures from noted artist, Robert Shure, or a trip to Stowe, VT. Also up for bids are a Dustin Pedroia (Rookie of the Year in ’07) autographed baseball, and a Randy Moss framed photo with autograph.

They will also have Woburn historical books and photos which include: History of Woburn by Samuel Sewall; Woburn Records of Births, Deaths, and Marriages: Part X; Marriage Intentions, 1699-1890, by Edward F. Johnson; four 7 x 9” mounted photographs by Baldwin Coolidge of the Woburn Public Library, ca. 1889.

In addition to the live auction, this year’s Gala also features many enticing raffles, and the purchase of a “lucky” raffle ticket could win you your own wine cellar or one of several theme-based baskets.

The Annual Gala and Auction is always a spectacular celebration, as well as a major fundraising event for the Woburn Public Library. It’s an evening that combines elegance with an enthusiastic show of community support for the Library, and the Café Escadrille is a wonderful venue for this genuinely enjoyable event. Come relax with friends in their lovely function rooms before enjoying a superb dinner. Tickets for the 5th Annual Gala and Auction are $100.00 per person and are available at the Library.
