Middle school students are invited to join the Middle School Book Club which meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm. Each meeting is a chance to talk about a great book, sample tasty snacks and make new friends. The first meeting of the school year is Wednesday, October 10 at 7pm. To join the group, just come to the meeting or contact Christi Showman Farrar at the library.

Soon it will be time for the Woburn Public Library Children’s Room to hold its annual Pre-School Valentine Party for ages 2 ½ to 5! The party will feature Valentine stories and sweet treats to eat. Pre-registration is required and will begin Monday, February 4, 2008. The party will take place at 10:30am on Thursday, February 14, 2008. Come and join the Valentine fun at the library!

. A Blood Mobile will be set up in the
120/150 Presidential Way shared parking lot in Woburn. In order to make the blood drive a
success, Massachusetts General Hospital is requesting a minimum of 30 donors.

On Sunday March 2, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the North Suburban YMCA is hosting the American Cancer Society’s Spin for Hope 2008, along with health clubs across New England. Now in its fourth year, Spin for Hope is an indoor cycling fundraising event to benefit cancer research, education, services for cancer patients and their loved ones, and advocacy efforts to promote public health. Grocery shop to help Social Capital Inc! A few days a year, Whole Foods supports a local non-profit by donating a percentage of their sales to help fundraising efforts. On Tuesday, March 4, 2008, SCI Woburn will receive 5% of all Whole Foods Woburn's sales. Stock up the cupboards and shop 'til you drop to help SCI continue to support the community! All About Airbrush

7:00 P.M., New Horizons at Choate, Terrace Lounge

In this demo, artist David Mitchell will show how the airbrush can be a useful tool in acrylic painting. Beginning with an explanation of what an airbrush is and how it works, the artist will demonstrate its use by creating an illustration of an automobile. Covered in the demo will be common problems and how to solve them. Members in attendance will get a chance to try the airbrush if they wish.
