Meets Thursdays at 9:30am to Noon beginning October 18th for six weeks.

The program is designed to educate and empower participants to manage and take control of their health. Topics will include: Coping with barriers and frustrations; Managing symptoms; Working with health care providers; and Incorporating fitness and nutrition into your lifestyle.

Meets Thursdays at 12:30pm to 2:30pm beginning October 18th for six weeks.

The first four sessions will include: Smart food group choices; Balancing food and physical exercises; Getting the most from your calories and Making small changes that result in healthy habits.
The fifth session will offer a field trip with an emphasis on nutrition.
The sixth session is a food demonstration by a local chef who prepares a delicious and healthy meal for participants to enjoy.

On Sunday, December 2, 2007, at 2:PM, the Friends of the Woburn Public Library will present their annual Holiday Program at the
Library. This year's featured entertainment is the Performance Choir
from the Joyce Middle School under the direction of Marilyn Drew. In
addition, there well be holiday readings, a sing-a-long, raffles, and

The library now has a book club for high school students, as well. The new High School Book Club meets the first Monday of the month, and the first meeting is Monday, October 1 at 4pm. Bring titles of your favorite books and your thoughts on what we should read. And come hungry because there will be snacks.

The Woburn Guild of Artists would like to invite members and their families to the Annual Holiday Get-Together Luncheon Buffet! It always proves to be a fun time! The event will take place at the Mandarin, in Reading, across from the Registry of Motorvehicles. Members are welcome to bring family and friends. The Mandarin is a wonderful restaurant serving Chinese and Japanese cuisine, with a nice atmosphere, and excellent service.

The price is only $14 per person, which includes Tax and Tip, but excludes drinks and the bar.

Middle school students are invited to join the Middle School Book Club which meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm. Each meeting is a chance to talk about a great book, sample tasty snacks and make new friends. The first meeting of the school year is Wednesday, October 10 at 7pm. To join the group, just come to the meeting or contact Christi Showman Farrar at the library.

A Walk Down Memory Lane is a one-of-a-kind film experience, designed specifically for people living with memory loss and their loved ones. Short clips from classic films will be shown, immediately followed by audience discussion and reminiscence, guided by a moderator.

Originally presented in partnership with The Tribeca Film Institute, this program demonstrates how film can be a form of treatment for people living with cognitive impairment. It shows how film has the power to connect us with our deep-rooted emotional memories ~~ the kind that never leave us.

Santa is coming to The North Suburban YMCA on Friday, December 14th from 5:30-7:30pm.

Grab your camera and get great shots of the kids with the one and only Santa. Stay for face-painting and fun holiday crafts. Food will be available for purchase so you can have dinner with friends and family.
Registration is required and participation is free to both facility and community members!

You can register at the North Suburban Family YMCA front desk up until the event on the 14th.

There will be fun family entertainment for all, and we hope to see you there. The first Coffee House will be Wednesday, December 19th, in the North Suburban YMCA at 137 Lexington St. right here in Woburn. The Coffee House takes place from 7pm – 9pm and is a family friendly event, open to all, free of charge.
