Youth & Adult Connections
On Tuesday January 29, 2008 the Woburn Youth Council conducted the annual Youth and Adult Connections Forum at New Horizons.
The primary objective of the forum was for youth to engage in a dialogue centered on civic concerns. Youth contributed creative ways to improve their community and adults brought a sense of reason and practicality to executing the new ideas. Bridging the generational gap always enlightens youth and enhances their ability to find solutions.
Tuesday evening’s forum generated a lot of new ideas. The primary topics were about connecting with the Woburn Public Schools student body, public service projects and beautification. Parents and School Committee members partnered with the Youth Council to discuss a plan of action. Each group was extremely successful at identifying ways to improve Woburn.
The Woburn Youth Council is eager to serve their community and successfully fulfill their civic duties. The Youth Council hopes to enlist your support by providing the annual Mini-Grants. If you are between the ages of 12-18 and you are a Woburn resident please click here to download a Mini-Grant application to apply for funding for your next public service project. We look forward to seeing your application.
