Woburn's 4th Annual Oktoberfest

Saturday, October 4, 2014 - 12:00pm

The City of Woburn’s Agricultural Commission and farm volunteers are proud to announce that Woburn’s Fourth Annual Oktoberfest & Family Faire will take place on Saturday, October 4th from 12 noon to 4:30 PM.  The event will once again be held at Woburn’s Spence Farm property, located at 41 Wyman Street in Woburn.

As in years’ past, Oktoberfest is a family-friendly event and there is no admission charge.  There will be plenty of Oktoberfest-themed food and beverage for sale at a reasonable cost.  Offerings include knockwurst, bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels, hamburgers, hotdogs, a variety of pastry, coffee, soft drinks, and of course beer!

Entertainment will once again be provided by the ever popular King Ludwig’s Bavarian Band.  King Ludwig’s will be performing all of your favorite Oktoberfest-themed songs including The Beer Barrel Polka, Ein Prosit and Edelweiss.   Words to many of the songs they will play are included in the event’s program book so that you may sing along!  The band also encourages participation from the audience in the way of dancing and interaction with the songs.

Keeping with tradition, we will be selling the fourth edition of our souvenir pint glass for a small charge.  The design of this years’ pint glass is sure to be a very popular one, so please don’t miss out on purchasing one or two as you enter the event.  There are also limited editions of pint glasses from 2011, 2012 and 2013 that will be on sale at a discounted price.   They make great holiday gifts!

Once again, Oktoberfest will host a wonderful assortment of artisans, crafters and vendors selling their goods.  There will be over twenty vendors, offering something for everyone.

Century Bank, a new business coming soon to Woburn, will be at the event and will offer several activities for children, including face painting, Curious Creatures and popcorn.  Expanding upon the children’s activities mentioned above, the Agricultural Commission will be providing two bounce houses, German hat decorating and balloon sculptures made by JuJu the Clown.  The Agricultural Commission will be harvesting the pumpkins they grew over the summer at the farm and each child can pick a free pumpkin and decorate it to take home.  All of the activities for children are free of charge and are sure to please!

The event will go off rain or shine and is handicap accessible.  In addition to the ample parking at the event, there will be satellite parking at the Crowne Plaza Boston-Woburn located at 15 Middlesex Canal Park (next to Showcase Cinemas) with a free shuttle to and from the Oktoberfest event.

We invite family and friends, from not only Woburn, but all of our surrounding communities, to take some time to stop by Oktoberfest, a wonderful event for the entire family, on Saturday, October 4th from noon to 4:30 PM.  You won’t be disappointed!
