Woburn Guild of Artists Presents Watercolor Demonstration, by William Ternes
Location(s)
"Watercolor Demonstration
by William E. Ternes
Thursday, April 17, 2008
7:00 P.M., New Horizons at Choate, Terrace Lounge
William Ternes will demonstrate his painting techniques. He will bring his 50 years plus experience of painting in water color and oil. An attraction to the outdoors can be seen in his ability to emphasize nature's luminosity. Using the elements of nature, Ternes transforms his paintings into strong, vibrant visual statements through the use of brilliant, highly saturated hues and bold brush strokes. A final image is suggested rather than defined, as in "Edgartown Light."
William Ternes earned a B.S. degree in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Columbia University. He also studied at the Museum of Fine Art, Boston, and the Massachusetts College of Art. The Guild of Boston Artists and the Copley Society of Boston regularly exhibit his work.
In addition to his work being shown in galleries around New England, his work is also internationally known. Collectors of his work are located in Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Japan, and the United States. Corporate collectors in the U.S.A. include Bank of America, John Hancock, and the Transco Corporation.
William Ternes has received awards from the following associations:
Allied Artist of American Show
Copley Society of Boston Member Show
Nation Arts Club Annual Member Show
New England Water Color Society Show
