The Upcoming Woburn CoffeeHouse

The Woburn CoffeeHouse is an exciting way to bring people together, share ideas, artistic mediums and break muffins over a hot mug of coffee or tea! We hope you are able to join us at our next CoffeeHouse, which will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2008.
SCI is proud to have at this week’s CoffeeHouse renowned poet Jamarhl Crawford, and inspiring dancer Adilson Barros.
Jamarhl Crawford:
Poet, emcee, author, community activist, lecturer, who has performed at the local, national and international level. He has performed with such artists as the Last Poets, KRS – 1, Dead Prez, Amiri Baraka, Les Nubians, and a host of others. He has lectured at various Massachusetts colleges, including Harvard University, University of Massachusetts – Amherst, Hampshire College, Boston College, among others. He has been an active voice in the Greater Boston community speaking out against issues of violence, police brutality, racism, and other issues of social justice.
Adilson Barros:
Dancer, poet visual artist from Cape Verde. Adilson successfully combines elements of capoiera, African Dance, jazz and hip – hop to create his own unique style. He has performed in various venues and plays in the Greater Boston Area, and has been a noted member and contributor to the Cambridge Dance Complex. He has also performed on local and national television shows including Showtime at the Apollo.
