Third Community Forum on Race Relations
Mayor Scott Galvin and Woburn Public Schools, in collaboration with SCI, will be hosting the Third Community Forum on Race Relations at Woburn Memorial High School on Thursday, April 6, from 7-9pm. Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend!
This event will focus on identifying action steps that can be taken to address the challenges identified at previous forums, related to the topics of race relations and diversity in Woburn. It is part of the #WoburnUnites series. #WoburnUnites is a homegrown effort dedicated to making Woburn a welcoming place for ALL by creating programming that fosters community and understanding.
The event follows two previous forums on race relations and diversity, the first held at St. John's Baptist Church and the second at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. The first forum featured a panel discussion with a number of community leaders, including Police Chief Tom Ferullo and Assistant Superintendent Mark Donovan. The second forum featured small group discussions with facilitators, prompting honest and candid dialogue focusing on personal experiences of race and diversity. Both of these forums helped pave the way for the third forum.
