Soon I will begin welcoming the "Woburn Local" group to gatherings

This group is a quiet one, but it keeps growing.  I'm eager to make it more than virtual, and to learn about and with each of you.  Thanks to our increasing numbers, we can have worthwhile times together even if only one-third of all members show up on an occasion.

Because I wonder if this group can provide leadership for making Woburn a recognized Transition Town, I encourage you all to Google Transition Towns and start visiting the various UK and US sites pertaining to them.  Write to me if you want more specific instructions for this investigation.

My original inspiration for this group was the Harvard Local group of Harvard, MA, which I first learned about in January, 2007.  I'm also very influenced by the E. F. Schumacher Society and its initiatives in western MA.  Transition Towns are simply the latest and most visible form of peak oil- and climate change-inspired localization effort.

Next time I write, I'll provide a date, time and place for our first gathering.  I expect it'll be in May at my house.

Be well,

David
