The Woburn Senior Center, 144 School Street, will host the “Sew a Smile” program on Monday, May 17th and also Monday May 24th from 10am to Noon. Volunteers are encouraged to attend to sew hospital gowns for children facing surgery in impoverished countries. Community volunteers who can sew are encouraged to help us provide hospital gowns to children receiving surgery. In addition “Smile Dolls” will be sewn and used by therapists to alleviate the fear of anesthesia, stethoscopes and needles while communicating their medical procedures to the children. If you are able to bring a portable sewing machine, that would be helpful. Cloth and thread will be provided. All activities at the Woburn Senior Center are handicap accessible.
