O'hAnleigh delights at their Summer Concert
The Citizens Park Summer Concert Series wrapped up its fourth concert last Friday with óhAnléigh and their traditional Irish sounds. The concert was sponsored by Sean P. Coakley. Once again the weather was wonderful and graced us with clear skies, and many members of our community came out to enjoy the show.
Along with many original songs in the style of traditional Irish music, the three piece group treated us to various arrangements of both classic musical fair as well as contemporary songs. All of the music featured was preformed on traditional instruments, some of which were hand made by the band. óhAnléigh had members of the audience clapping their hands and stomping their feet throughout the night.
This is the sixth year that the Citizens Park Summer Concert Series has entertained Woburn residents. The concerts are a great way to enjoy summer nights with your fellow community members, and at the great location also a chance to shop and have dinner in Woburn Center.
There will be a make-up concert for the postponed August 8th show, featuring the Austin Torpedoes. This concert will be held at the end of Neighborhood Day weekend, Sunday, September 21st. For more details, visit www.sciwoburn.org as the concert approaches. As always, the Concert Series is free to the public.
The Citizens Park Summer Concert Series is coordinated by SCI Social Capital Inc., Woburn Residents’ Environmental Network (WREN) (www.GoWREN.org), and the Woburn Redevelopment Authority. The Citizens Park Summer Concert Series is made possible by the Woburn Arts/Culture Initiative with Northwest Suburban Health Alliance/CHNA 15 DoN funds from Lahey Clinic.
