Letter Carrier's Food Drive

On Saturday, May 10 the annual Letter Carriers’ Food Drive will take place. The Food Pantry at the Council of Social Concern will be preparing their warehouse for this anticipated annual event. This food drive helps the Council of Social Concern replenish their shelves so they are able to continuously provide a great service for those in need of nutritious foods.

Each day, letter carriers faithfully deliver mail to residents across the city. This Saturday, they will also be picking up the food items that Woburn residents leave out for them. Last year, letter carriers across the United States collected over 74.4 million pounds of food, with well over 12 tons being delivered to the Food Pantry at the Council of Social Concern. Place your non-perishable food donations (no glass jars please) out on Saturday, May 10 before your mail is delivered and your letter carrier will collect it and deliver it to the Council of Social Concern. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, please make your check payable to “Council of Social Concern Food Pantry” and leave it clearly marked for your letter carrier.
