Horn Pond Memorial Lantern Walk

From date:

The Horn Pond Memorial Lantern Walk is open to all who wish to walk together to remember our cherished loved ones who have passed away from our earth. We light our lanterns to signify our connections with each other and those whose spirits are still with us. Each year hundreds of lantern walkers circle Horn Pond together with light. If you would like to make your own lantern for someone in your life you are welcome to the Lantern Workshops at Whole Foods. We will have ready made lanterns at the pond and ask for a donation for the work of the Friends of Mary Cummings Trust Park to keep the trust left to the public by Mary Cummings.

The Horn Pond Memorial Lantern Walk started to honor the lives of loved ones particularly our troubled youth who died tragically. I walk for my own son, Michael Lutz, who was killed in a car accident on January 27, 2008, Michael walked the first two years for his own friends. It is an opportunity to remember how precious life is. Please join us for the Lantern Walk, you are welcome to sit on a bench and watch the lights around the pond as well or light a candle and be with us in spirit. Please forward an invitation along to others you think may appreciate this opportunity. Sincerely, Cailin O'Toole, Spirit of United Light Lanterns.
