Flag Day Festivities
The Woburn Kiwanis Club will host its 30th annual Flag Day event on Friday and Saturday, June 19-20, at Library Field, across from the Woburn Police Department. Friday is family night and bracelet night. Events will take place from 6 to 10 pm. There will be a carnival, with rides and games. Ride bracelets are $15 per person and $14 with a discount coupon. The bracelet guarantees an unlimited number of rides all night long. Dee-Jay AL Sablone will also be there to host the family block party and play music for all ages. Saturday’s events will run from 4 to 11 p.m.
There will be concession stands set-up around the carnival and live entertainment all night. The Abbie Barrett Band will be playing at the field from 7 to 10 p.m., and Dee-Jay AL Sablone will be there playing favorite hits. Mayor Thomas L. McLaughlin will give his welcome address at 9 p.m., and Jenna Fralick will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” just before the fireworks. The firework display will begin at 10 p.m.
The event will be held rain or shine.
