Recycling to Benefit Council of Social Concern

Saturday, September 15, 2007

Wondering what to do with that old television, computer monitor or appliance now that you have gotten a new one? Paul Medeiros has set up recycling events that run throughout Woburn at various times during the year. This is an excellent opportunity to recycle these items at a minimal cost and the best part is that these recycling events will also be fundraisers for local organizations who will sponsor the events. Saturday, September 15,, 2007 is the next recycling day that will benefit Council of Social Concern. It will take place at the Daily Times Chronicle parking lot, One Arrow Drive, Woburn from
9 A.M. to 1 P.M. All proceeds will benefit Council of Social Concern programs.
If you would like further information or have any questions about this recycling program designed to save you money and benefit local organizations and at the same time protect the environment, please call Paul or Lori Medeiros at 781-938-0297 or via e-mail at: paulderman@verizon.net

Appliance Recycling

We welcome any resident, business or organization to participate in this program! We started this program as an attempt to diminish the cost of disposing of appliances and other electronic items passed on to the residents of the city of Woburn billed as a fee (but realized as a back door tax)but soon realized that this could be a positive project that could raise much needed funds for local organizations. This project has expanded to other communites successfully and has helped to effectively and affordably keep our and surrounding communities clean while at the same time protecting our environment, providing jobs in Massachusetts and raising the much needed funds by local organizations. Thanks for the support!

Great project!

SCI benefited from the last quarterly recyclying drive. It is such a great win-win-win...helps the environment, local nonprofits, and helps clear out unwanted stuff from people's homes! If you missed the last one in June you should definitely try to round up what you have in your home for this one.
