27th Annual Holiday Food Basket Project is Underway!
The Council of Social Concern's Food Pantry is getting ready for its Annual Holiday Food Basket Distribution for families in need who reside in Woburn or Winchester. Last year, the pantry distributed over 800 Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to local families.
If you know of any families in need, please refer them to the attached flyer, so they can sign up for a Thanksgiving basket. The form also explains how to request a Christmas basket, which is being done differently this year than for the Thanksgiving basket.
There are also a number of ways individuals in the community can donate or volunteer to help with this food basket project. To learn about all of the opportunities, click here.
If you are unable to complete a food basket on your own, but would still like to contribute, you can assist WREN with their effort to produce 20 baskets for both holidays. Attached is the list of items needed for the 20 Thanksgiving Food Baskets. The items highlighted in red have already been promised.
Donations can be picked up from your home or you can drop them off at 6 Thorton St., Woburn. If you would like to donate money, you can make checks out to WREN and mail them to: Rodney Flynn, 6 Thorton St, Woburn, MA 01801. If you would rather purchase gift certificates, please buy them in $10 or $20 amounts.
