If you're from the Woburn area, you have most likely seen, heard of, or attended WorldFest. It is a celebration of diversity put together each spring by SCI and the YMCA International Learning Center.

The festival is held in front of the Woburn Public Library and is a highly successful event. This year it will take place on Sunday, May 19th from 2-5pm.

WorldFest allows individuals to showcase their different cultures and heritage through art, music, food, and dance.

Students who are a part of the Leadership Team at the International Learning Center (ILC) have been the primary group putting this celebration together in recent years. The students on the Leadership Team are adult English language learners.

This year we are recruiting a volunteer Steering Committee of community members interested in working with the ILC student leaders to make the event even more successful in 2013. We would like to see more people in the community involved with this event and sharing their creative input.

The next Steering Committee meeting will be on Tuesday, March 12 from 7pm to 8pm at the United Methodist Church (523 Main Street, Woburn, MA).
