Woburn Community Meet and Greet Wrap Up!

June 18, 2009 by Scott

meet and greet eventLast night's community meet and greet event was enjoyed by all. It provided great opportunities for new members of the community to familiarize themselves with various organizations in Woburn. Turnout was good, and the food was fantastic! Lots of thanks goes out to Bahamas Grill for providing food for the event, as well as the North Suburban YMCA, the Boys and Girls Club, the Council of Social Concern, the Woburn Senior Center, WREN, and Safe Harbor Community Programs for taking part in welcoming these new members to the city of Woburn.

WRA Community Development Strategy Meeting

December 10, 2008 by WRA

woburn city hallThe Woburn Redevelopment Authority(WRA) will be holding a public meeting on Thursday December 11th from 7PM to 9PM at the WRA office at 371 Main Street, in Woburn Square, to review and update the City of Woburn's Community Development Strategy.  The current CD Strategy can be downloaded from the City of Woburn website here.  Just click on the folder for WRA Downloads. The CD Strategy serves to summarize the City's current planning documents, describe the City's community development goals and present a list of prioritized projects and activities designed to meet these goals. The CD Strategy also identifies geographical areas that will be the focus of the City's development efforts.  Any person or organization who wishes to comment on the CD Strategy will be afforded an opportunity to be heard. This is an excellent chance to get involved in our community by taking an active role in shaping it's future progress.

Middle School drop-in ceter at the YMCA

October 17, 2008 by Shea

Hello all!  It's been now a month of SCI AmeriCoprs service for me at the North Suburban YMCA.  We are hoping to start a Middle School program resembling a drop-in center over at the YMCA!  I'm really excited about this, but I could use some help!  Those of you who are middle school students we could use your input on what you would like for a place to go? Also parents and community would would like to see out of a facility for these students?  Just let me know!  I'm always open for new ideas!
