The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series kicks off on Saturday, June 10 with the Austin Torpedoes, a band with local ties to Woburn who has performed for the series previously. The concert will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis Street, otherwise known as Ice House Park. This concert is sponsored by the Woburn 375th Celebration. The Austin Torpedoes are a Boston-based band who perform an eclectic mix of tunes in their own distinct way. Their unique sound combines elements of many American musical styles such as blues, jazz, country, western swing and rock. The band covers songs by a wide range of artists including Duke Ellington, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, The Beatles and Chuck Berry.

This is the fifteenth year that the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents. The concerts are a perfect way to spend summer nights with your fellow community members and enjoy the beautiful Horn Pond area.

Austin torpedoes farewellThe rain couldn't beat the band last Sunday as the Austin Torpedoes capped off a spectacular season of the Woburn Summer Concert Series at John F. "Jack" Marlowe Park.  The community gathered to dance and get their collective groove on to the diverse sound in Woburn center.  Drawing to a close the end of the concert series as well as saying farewell to the summer season, the band rocked the night away and narrowly beat out the rain that had delayed the concert earlier in the year.
