First Summer Concert a success

Submitted by rmiles on Mon, 06/29/2009 - 8:49am.

The Jack Marlowe Park Summer Concert Series kicked off  last Friday with Ska band Beat Soup. The rain held off and an enthusiastic crowd gathered for the concert sponsored by the Woburn Mall/KGI Properties.

Audience members were treated to Beat Soup’s Ska-influenced style that included both instrumental dance pieces and vocal numbers. Playing originals and covers, the 7-piece band from Boston featured a classic sax, trombone, and trumpet section as well as guitar, keyboard and drums. The band had audience members dancing from start to finish with their lively beats. The night ended perfectly with clear skies and a happy, toe-tapping crowd.  read more »
