The summer months present a special challenge for many of the families served by the Council of Social Concern’s Food Pantry. Children who receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch at school are now home for three meals a day, placing an extra financial burden on those who are already struggling to put food on the table. Your donation now will help to ensure that local children will have enough nutritious food to eat during the summer months. All non-perishable food within date will be accepted.

All donations can be dropped off at the CSC Food Pantry at 2 Merrimack Street in Woburn, Mondays-Fridays between 9:00-5:00 p.m.  If you wish to make a monetary donation, please make your check out to Council of Social Concern Food Pantry. For more information about donations please click here

The Jordan Liebhaber scholarship fund is currently accepting applications. The scholarship was created in the loving memory of Jordan Liebhaber (May 22, 1986- March 29, 2013).

The purpose of the scholarship is to continue Jordan’s values, ethics and strong commitment to help make this world a better place for our elders. The scholarship fund is for young adults wanting to do community service work projects, particularly those benefiting seniors. The funds can be used for enrollment, materials and, or stipend; $1800 will be awarded annually, with the possibility of awarding multiple applicants. Proposals are due by August 15th.

At an early age, Jordan began his service work volunteering with his dad at Tippet Home a hospice in Needham, MA.  After graduating from University of Miami, he returned to his interest in helping elders as a patient and family advocate in nursing homes, quickly expanding his dedication by volunteering frequently in the Greater Boston Jewish Community at charity events. Jordan treasured his job as the Assistant Administrator at the Chelsea Jewish Home Assisted Living Residence. Jordan had an intuitive sense for what was important and manifested it in his humble, gentle and caring way. He was a joy and light to everyone who knew him. For more information about this scholarship fund, click here.
