Margaret R. Bose, Operations Manager Margie comes to SCI with over 20 years experience in administration, scientific research & consulting, and teaching. She has been an active volunteer in local community organizations including ESL instruction, church programs, school classroom, welcoming international students, and summer camp counselor. In addition to providing administrative support for the SCI office, Margie coordinates SCI Woburn’s Civic Welcome Wagon program. She holds a B.S. from Lafayette College and M.S. from UMass Amherst, with degrees in Geology.
David B. Crowley, President and Founder David brings over fifteen years of leadership in the nonprofit sector to the founding of SCI. Prior to starting SCI, David served as Executive Director of Generations Incorporated, which under his leadership grew into a national model for intergenerational programming. He also started and directed the Kentucky Community Service Commission, a state entity appointed by the Governor responsible for AmeriCorps and other service programs. David graduated from Harvard College in 1991 with an A.B. in Government, and from Woburn High School in 1987.
Heather Gately, SCI AmeriCorps Outreach and Technology Coordinator Heather grew up in Woburn and is a recent graduate of UMass Amherst, where she studied English. Heather coordinates Outreach and Technology efforts from the SCI Woburn offices. Heather has a year of experience in Customer Service and looks forward to the experience her AmeriCorps service will bring her.
Andrew Gibson, SCI AmeriCorps Outreach and Technology Coordinator Andrew has 7 years of experience in the internet technology and customer service fields. Andrew is a life-long Woburnite, and proud graduate of Woburn High School. Andrew’s primary function with SCI is to connect citizens using various technological means to help strengthen the bonds of Woburn’s populace.
Crystal Johnson, SCI Flagship Program Director Crystal is from Springfield, and currently resides in Dorchester. Crystal brings 20 years of experience working with the youth of Boston to SCI. Crystal got her Undergraduate Degrees in Sociology and Spanish from UMass Amherst, and her Graduate Degree in Applied Educational Science from Northeastern University. Crystal oversees the AmeriCorps members and performs various other administrative duties.
Mike Sances, Network Coordinator Mike grew up on Cape Cod and is a recent graduate of UMass Amherst, where he studied Political Science. Mike works on setting up Network Sites for SCI, and also does behind-the-scenes maintenance for SCI's flagship websites, including sciwoburn.org. Mike served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA with SCI Woburn from August 2006 to August 2007.
